"I can afford a blemish on my character but not on my clothes." Vincent Price's character Shelby Carpenter in Laura. Nothing takes the place of a well dressed man aside from a well dressed woman-this bit of knowledge each of us are privy to, I hope.
Between Vogue, Alexander McQueen, GQ, Tom Ford, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Chanel and other well heeled designers and quarterlies, we have come to expect nothing short of the best for our lifestyle wardrobes.
Which brings me to a Swedish shirt maker sure to be in good company with the aforementioned, Eton.
Since 1928 the esteemed shirt maker has used the finest long fiber cotton available to produce their exceptional shirts and they have yet to disappoint, especially considering they celebrated their 80th birthday in 2008-talk about longevity.
So it is quite fitting a clothier of this caliber would create a little something to commemorate the blessed occasion, The Eton Diamond Dress Shirt.
The Egyptian cotton shirt hearkens back to the era of the 1920s Art Deco period with studs encrusted in 2.5mm multi-colored diamonds whilst the cufflinks have a similar design, embedded with 4mm white diamonds, set in white and black enamel borders designed by Zance Yianni of Sackville & Jones, Men's Accessories Designers and Manufacturers.
The Eton Diamond Shirt traveled around the world before being sold on Ebay with a portion of the proceeds having gone to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The final cost of the diamond studded beauty you ask? $46,700 U.S. dollars.
Now, if you cannot afford such an article of clothing there is still hope: Eton designs a great number of lovely shirts for such notables as Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to young royals such as Princes William and Harry.
So as you can see they have dressed some of the most influential and dapper lads in the United States and abroad.
If the diamond encrusted shirt is something you would be interested in, I am sure you could talk them into recreating a copy for you, just be prepared to part with several month's worth of salary in order to pay for it!
Cheers my dapper darlings.

Putting a fine shirt on the likes of Taylor Lautner is akin to putting a tie on a pig.
(sighs, drinks coffee)
Good morning Kimmy.....As usual, your post has again been informative. I had no idea that shirt even existed.
With that said......., I prefer my diamonds on my ears, not on my buttons.(O:(O:

Dearest K.S.,
Do be kind my dear. I concur but I have a few young readers so I have to play fair, every once in a while at least.
I do enjoy your quips especially when you have had your coffee, I trust it is not Starbucks, French roast please!
Cheers my friend.
Greetings My Grama's Soul,
I also prefer them on my wrists, fingers, ears and neck! :-)
I cannot imagine putting diamonds on my buttons, I would probably lose them and then I would have to be committed!
Hope your Monday is a lovely one, cheers!
So awesome. I'm imagining my husband dressed in that shirt and suddenly I can't take my eyes off of him. Thanks for all your kind comments at my blog. You are one in a million.
"I can afford a blemish on my character, but not on my clothes" ....hahahahha!
I think I feel the same way, but I'm too chicken to just say it! Some people are just so brave! Bravo! Bravo! :) :)
Thank you for welcoming me back from my journey. :) How are you today? :) I hope well. :)
Ooooh I love the quote at the beginning, it's so true, although I would be terrible with a white shirt beacuse I am abit careless haha...so I stick to darker colours....but what a beautiful garment and great post :)

Wow- beautiful shirt but a bit out of range!
Now you're talking Kimmy, I can see myself sporting one of these while sipping champers and chatting to Wills and Harry at one of their Grandmothers garden parties. I'd also just like to mention what a great loss to the world of fashion Alexander McQueen will be RIP.
Wow, I can't believe some people might spend that much on a shirt! Quite amazing. Well, it does look very sharp! I enjoyed reading this. Your posts are always so interesting :)
Bonjour CherylT,
You are quite funny! I pictured my friend Jonathan (my lovely friend I met whilst dropping yogurt on my skirt) in this lovely piece and I, too swooned a bit myself! :-)
You are most welcomed, as I always say, I was merely stating the truth.
Cheers my lovely friend.
Hello C,
So glad you are back from Italy-you did enjoy yourself, no? With all those lovely Italian men, how could you not? :-)
When I saw the quote it fit the occasion perfectly because I knew I was not the only one who felt this way, I am a stickler for my clothing being wrinkle, fuzz and stain free.
I am doing quite well by the way C., thank you for asking.
Have a lovely one, cheers!
Greetings Laura,
You have no idea how much I love hearing I am not the only one who adores stain free clothing. I have seen my share of family members dropping items that should make their way to their mouths on their garments-especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas, just when the candlelight illuminates it even further, go figure!
You are lovely for popping in, I do enjoy your visits.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, cheers!
Hello The Red Umbrella,
It is too much but I love excessive things, even a man's shirt because there is someone out there who will purchase this-but it will not be me mind you. :-)
I hope all is well in Cali-cheers my friend.
Bonjour Ryan,
You would look fetching in this stylish shirt, Wills and Harry would be honored to be in your company! :-)
And yes you can say it is a great loss to the fashion world, Alexander was quite the visionary, he is truly missed.
Have a lovely Wednesday Ryan, cheers!
Bonjour Poppies and Sunshine,
I think this is a bit much as well but love the allure of such an item.
I am so pleased you are enjoying KimmyStyle, your visits are very much appreciated.
Have a lovely Wednesday P and S, cheers!
I used to buy my husband only Calvin Klein clothes. They fit well and he looked good in them. Once I gave them to the cleaners and got back shirts which looked like mine so I didn't bother to check them. After a month, my husband gave them to me to take to the cleaners and I saw not one was Calvin Klein but cheap imitations. I was heart broken and since then never gave in anything to the cleaners.
Hello a lady's life,
That is one of the sickest things people do I feel, why would you steal clothing from someone? There are outlet stores and Goodwill stores in each city, you can buy clothing on the cheap, there is NO excuse for stealing another individual's clothing.
I would be perturbed as well, your poor husband, the sad thing is you picked them for him, just a travesty!
I tell you, finding a reputable cleaner is like shopping for any other valued member of your household staff-do research, research and more research!
Have a lovely day ALL and thank you for sharing your story-I shall be on my guard from now on, cheers!
