Extreme Sorrow

I do not know where to begin, which is rare for me, for I have no issues with expressing my emotions.
But this time is much different.
Very early Friday morning, my lovely brother Michael passed on quite unexpectedly. As you can conceive, my family and I are in utter shock and disbelief.
So needless to say, it will be a few weeks (maybe a bit more) before I am capable of posting again, I do hope you understand.
At the present time my heart is floating in a dark abyss--fighting desperately to gain its composure and return to the beautifully familiar place before this tragedy presented itself.
So this is for you Michael, enjoy your journey...

Ithaca
When you set out for Ithaka
ask that your way be long,
full of adventure, full of instruction.
The Laistrygonians and the Cyclops,
angry Poseidon - do not fear them:
such as these you will never find
as long as your thought is lofty, as long as a rare
emotion touch your spirit and your body.
The Laistrygonians and the Cyclops,
angry Poseidon - you will not meet them
unless you carry them in your soul,
unless your soul raise them up before you.

Ask that your way be long.
At many a Summer dawn to enter
with what gratitude, what joy -
ports seen for the first time;
to stop at Phoenician trading centres,
and to buy good merchandise,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
and sensuous perfumes of every kind,
sensuous perfumes as lavishly as you can;
to visit many Egyptian cities,
to gather stores of knowledge from the learned.

Have Ithaka always in your mind.
Your arrival there is what you are destined for.
But don't in the least hurry the journey.
Better it last for years,
so that when you reach the island you are old,
rich with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to give you wealth.
Ithaka gave you a splendid journey.
Without her you would not have set out.
She hasn't anything else to give you.

And if you find her poor, Ithaka hasn't deceived you.
So wise you have become, of such experience,
that already you'll have understood what these Ithakas mean.
Constantine P Cavafy

I shall always love you my dearest brother.
Rest well young man until we meet again,
Your Poo Bear.. Kimberly

Dear Kimmy,
sweetie I'm so very sorry to read this post. Sending you my deepest condolences on your brother's passing. My younger brother who was 58 passed away in 2008 , so I know some of how difficult this is to deal with. I still grieve for my brother Ken and I know it will take you a while to get through this too.
As beautiful as life is death is so horrible. Just know how lucky you were to have him in your life and joy in remembering his great memories. May GOD be with you and your family during this sad time and I will keep you in my daily thoughts and prayers. If you ever want to chat more about your brother ( or anything ) just know I am here to help in any way I can.
I love you my dear sweet friend and once again my deepest sympathy on your brothers passing.

My dear Kimmy, I am shocked and saddened to hear of your sudden tragic loss. Your dear brother and I know you are so close and loving with your family. I am so sorry. You and your rare brand of kindness and light have really brightened the days and to think that you are going through something so awful saddens beyond belief. May the memory of your dearest brother be eternal and may our God who is love comfort and keep you and your family in these most difficult of days and always.

I see him walking as tall as he was, taking steps higher than ever before. I see him smiling happily at us, and passing us by. Wishing us joy, and bidding us a sweet and happy farewell as he walks alone. I see him cresting the top of the hill and waving one last time, still smiling, but pausing to give us that second look, and walking as strong as ever into that peaceful place.
May he find rest. May he find peace and may we find that in the coming days ahead we had one of the few things that life rewards to a few, a jewel of a man. A man whose heart was bigger than his body, whose mind was unlimited, and whose aspirations for life took him away from home, but he took home with him and kept it in his heart, and there too is the love that he has for his family.God's Blessings of peace to you.

Dear Kimmy,
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
We came from above and to it we all shall return. Twisted is life, for life is the end and death the beginning - but that's the odd beauty of it. Let's pray Michael will be welcomed into our Lord's vast Eden, and that He blesses you with patience. If you often reminisce the good times with the missing person, you'll never feel their absence, for absence is nothing but physical.
Courage to you and your family.
Brotherly hugs.
